Work of the compensating couplings is associated with the cost of power to overcome frictional forces when the individual elements move relative to each other or with the deformation of the elastic element of the coupling.
These couplings are used to connect shafts with inaccurately aligned axes and a deformable base. They compensate for small radial, axial, angular or combined displacements. The reason for the displacements may be inaccurate installation, deformation of the assembling units of the assembled units during the operation of the helicopter, and in some cases the bias is regulated in advance when assembling the transmission shafts by helicopter or airplane.
