Cotter Pin 1,6х20-2.11 GOST397-79
Cotter pins are special fasteners made of semi-circular wire with a teardrop eye on one side and two ends of different lengths on the other. Metalware is used to prevent self-loosening of pin, bolt and nut (crown, slotted) joints under the influence of vibration and impact loads, as well as to secure lightly loaded parts. In the aircraft industry and mechanical engineering, pins of increased strength are used. Splints of corrosion-resistant steel in justified cases should be subjected to heat treatment. At the consumer's request, the cotter pins must be coated. The thickness of the metal coating is from 6 to 12 μm, the conventional designations for coatings are according to GOST 1759.0-87.
