TCAS II 7.1

Airborne Collision Avoidance Warning System (Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System, TCAS) is an airplane system designed to reduce the risk of aircraft collisions. The system surveys the area around the aircraft, detecting other vessels equipped with a TCAS responder. In the event of a risk of collision, the system warns the pilots. According to ICAO standards, TCAS should be installed on all ships heavier than 5,700 kg or certified to carry more than 19 passengers.

The TCAS equipment kit includes: a computer unit that calculates the course of events and determines the issued commands, two transmit / receive antennas installed at the top and bottom of the fuselage (one of them is directional (top), the other is omnidirectional), separate antennas for S-transponders (about them below) and a display indicator in the cab.
