Electrical Equipment

On-board power supply system for aircraft, designed to provide on-board electrical equipment of the aircraft with the required power. The system of electricity supply is usually called a set of devices for the production and distribution of electricity.

On modern aircraft and helicopters electric power is used to activate various electrified installations. It is the most universal type of energy in comparison with other species (muscular, pneumatic, pyrotechnic, hydraulic). Electric energy, in addition, can easily be transformed into other types of energy, transmitted and distributed among consumers; with the help of it it is possible to automate as much as possible the processes of control, regulation and control, and also to ensure the creation of systems with high reliability.

On the electrical equipment of aircrafts there are a number of unfavorable factors - vibration, acceleration, large temperature and pressure drops, shock loads, aggressive fumes of fuel, oils and special liquids, sometimes very corrosive and toxic. The design features of aircraft electrical equipment aggregates are very high manufacturing quality, high mechanical and electrical strength with minimum weight and dimensions, fire and explosion safety, relative ease of operation, complete interchangeability of the same type of products, etc.
